The First Official Paper Planes Cocktail
Anyone who knows us personally knows this already, but we love a cocktail.
Not in a “bottomless brunch every weekend” kind of way. More in a “beautiful hotel bar, low lighting, excellent glassware, and one really good drink” kind of way.
And honestly, when we started Paper Planes Co., we always knew we wanted it to become more than just a service-based marketing agency.
Yes, we help brands grow. Yes, we build strategy, content, positioning and visibility.
But we also wanted Paper Planes to feel like a lifestyle brand, with personality and a brand that reflects the things we genuinely love.
Travel. Beautiful hotels. Great conversations. And cocktails very much fall into that category.
So, it felt only right that we eventually created one of our own.
Introducing: The Frequent Flyer
The first official Paper Planes cocktail.
And before anyone says it, yes, we know a Paper Plane cocktail already exists. But we wanted to create something that felt far more us.
This version actually started about 10 years ago, after Claire tried a cocktail in one of those hidden speakeasy-style bars. You know the type. Dim lighting. Tiny menu. Slightly intimidating bartender. Somehow the best drink you’ve ever had.
She loved it so much that her husband, who in a previous life was an award-winning cocktail mixologist before moving into the corporate world, created his own version for her at home.
Over the years, it became one of those drinks…
The one friends ask for when they come over. So popular in fact that one of Claire’s bestie’s asked to use it as her wedding cocktail.
And conveniently, Georgia and Claire have almost identical taste in cocktails.
What’s to love?
Vodka base? Perfect.
Fresh lime? Essential.
Elderflower? Always.
A little spice? Absolutely.
And the egg white gives it that silky, foamy top that instantly makes it feel like a proper cocktail bar drink.
It’s fresh, slightly spicy, smooth, strong, and dangerously easy to drink.
Which honestly feels quite on brand for us.
Why “Frequent Flyer”?
Because Frequent Flyer is actually the name of our signature package at Paper Planes.
It’s our favourite way to work with clients…
Longer-term partnerships.
Building momentum together.
Helping brands grow properly instead of throwing random marketing tactics at the wall and hoping for the best.
So when it came to naming our favourite cocktail, it felt obvious.
The Frequent Flyer just stuck.
And yes, we firmly believe cocktails taste better in a Nick and Nora glass. It makes the whole thing feel slightly more glamorous, which we fully support.
The Recipe
• 2oz Vodka (we like Grey Goose)
• 3/4oz St Germain
• 3/4oz Lime Juice
• 1 tsp Honey (or 15ml Honey Syrup)
• A Few Fresh Chili Slices, muddled
• 1/2 Egg White
Method
Muddle the jalapeño slices first to release the spice.
Add all ingredients to a shaker and dry shake hard without ice.
Add ice and shake again until chilled.
Double strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass.
This is the first official Paper Planes cocktail.
Probably not the last.
Because we want to keep building things that feel personal, thoughtful, fun, and genuinely reflective of the brand we’re creating.
